Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child, better known as the ‘Shoe Boxes’ campaign starts in September 2017.  Last year Dunnington Methodist Church collected 105 shoe boxes from the Dunnington Community and the Dunnington Primary School. By filling shoe boxes with small toys, school supplies, sweets and other gifts we are bringing HOPE and JOY into children’s lives in the poorest areas of the world.

Leaflets and flat packed shoe boxes, which do not have to be wrapped in Christmas paper, can be picked up from Dunnington Methodist Church during the Wednesday Coffee Stops from 10.00am – 12.00pm or the Saturday Coffee mornings from 10.15 – 11.15am. Thank you.

Samaritan’s Purse, through Operation Christmas Child, distribute shoeboxes to children living in refugee camps regardless of race, religion, gender or any other characteristic. In time for Christmas 2016, 11,485,662 Christmas gifts were collected & distributed world-wide.  From the UK, 880,000 shoebox gifts were distributed to 17 countries thanks to the support of individuals, organisations and churches across the UK.
